Fourth and Fifth week of learning with Ms.Piper

Happy Friday! Just a reminder that the school dance is on Thursday May 15, from 6-8pm. It is a Western Round Up theme and costumes are encouraged! The cost is $15 per family and all students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

For writing, students have been learning about informative writing and how to use facts and not options to inform readers about a topic of their choice. They also practiced their editing with a focus on creating new paragraphs for a new idea and indenting.

In Math, students have started the geometry unit! We learned about angles, polygons and how to use protractors.

In Social Studies, students picked a Provincial or National Park within Alberta and researched information about its region, landforms, vegetation, animals, recreation, and tourism. They also created post cards that showcased the beauty of uniqueness of their park.

In Art, students used their knowledge of angles and created angle art! With a ruler, sharpie, and some bright colours, they made some unique and beautiful drawings.

Hope you have an amazing weekend and are able to enjoy this incredible weather! - Ms. Piper
