HS Form, Poetry and Plants

Students are bringing home the Human Sexuality form today.
Please read it, check out the lessons at https://teachingsexualhealth.ca/teachers/grade/grade-4/ if you are curious or have questions and then sign and return the form by April 10th.

If you have more questions, please send me an e-mail at lmsloane@cbe.ab.ca

WOW! It sounds like students had an exciting and restful Spring Break!

April is National Poetry Month!

We will be exploring different forms of poetic structures such as verse, free verse and concrete.

Verse is text structured with a rhythm and typically has a rhyme.

Free verse is a type of poetry that does not rhyme or have a regular rhythm.

A concrete poem creates an image with words or symbols that matches the topic of the poem.

Students will learn to write haiku poems cinquain poems and shape poems.

Stay tuned for MORE poetry!

We started our NEW read aloud today...

In Math, we are ordering fractions and moving towards decimals and percentages.

In Science, we are beginning our Plant Growth and Change unit...

I will be posting twice a week on the BLOG...typically Tuesdays and Fridays!

Spring time at NLS is always MESSY!

Our field is is SOGGY and MUDDY! We encourage students to make thoughtful choices when they are outside, but they still are getting dirty.

Please pack an extra pair of clothes for your child to change into when they get dirty.
