Gingerbread Houses and UP

We started the morning with our gingerbread MATH
Mrs. Sloane was impressed with our mental math strategies and our addition with decimals.

In the afternoon, students started working on their floor plan and we will continue tomorrow!
They needed to know the dimensions to know the area and the perimeter!

Friday is our LAST day of school!

We will be watching the movie UP.

The movie Up connects to learning by demonstrating the value of perseverance, creativity, and teamwork. Carl and Russell's journey highlights problem-solving, emotional growth, and adapting to challenges—key skills in learning. The film also emphasizes the importance of exploring new ideas and embracing unexpected adventures, much like the learning process itself.

Math Task with Gingerbread Houses

Students had an opportunity to share their opinion on Spirit Days at NLS.
We continue to practice with the structure of a paragraph!

We are starting our BIG gingerbread house plan!
We are combining art and math with the design!

Happy Festive Day!

Friday is PJ Day!

Area, Perimeter and Kindness!

We started the morning with a reading comprehension task.
Our next steps are to use the evidence from the text to support their answers.

In Gym, we played Santa's Workshop. In teams, you use a scooter to collect items in the middle (workshop) to get ONE toy and return it to your team.

We continued learning about area and reviewed perimeter!

Tomorrow we will start planning our Gingerbread Houses!

Tomorrow is FESTIVE Day!
You can wear festive hats, socks, pants or a sweater!

As a class, we needed MANY reminders to show expected behaviour and to be KIND to each other!

I understand the excitement before the winter break, but we must remember to be KIND and PATIENT with our classmates and our teacher!
