On April 25th from 4:30 - 6:00 NLS is hosting a Family Literacy Night!
Families are invited to join teachers in the classroom to play literacy games, participate in shared reading, explore writing tasks (our poetry books), visit the Scholastic Book Fair and the Food Trucks!
We are working on picking books that challenge us and allow us to practice our reading skills (predicting, visualizing and inferencing) when we are reading alone or with a partner.
Mrs. Barrowcliff has been suggesting NEW chapter books to our class!
We are working on Haiku and Cinquain poems!
We can't wait to share them with you at our Family Literacy Night on May 25th.
In Math, we have been adding with decimals and checking our work with calculators.
Students are learning how important it is to line up their place value with decimals
In Science, we are exploring native wildflowers to Calgary!
Today we planted some local wildflowers.
We will make several observations as we watch them GROW 🌱
Next Week we will...
...continue working with plants and building our understanding that plants require air, light energy, water nutrients and space to grow
...work on subtracting with decimals
...continue to explore different parts of poetry
...begin Human Sexuality in Health
